On child birth you can save money paid to Hijra's(eunuch's).

Now a days Hijra's charge you money anywhere from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 50,000 for a male child and half the amount in case of female child.

Before coming to you they gather full information from neighbors whether both are working, profession and earning level, then they'll approach you and demand unreasonable money.

How they come to know

The prime way is through the the address you give when applying for birth certificate when in hospital. They collect the address from the municipality by paying small bribe.

The second way is to watch out for baby cloths being dried

The third way is to keep enquiring here and there about birth of babies in all the areas.

Evading them

Never give correct address when filling the form for birth certificate in the hospital. This address does not matter in any way.

Or you can misquote the house number and partially write the street number.

So now they will not be able to catch you. Once it is likely that after 6 months or even 2 years they may approach you for money. You simply tell them that the baby was born in another city at your parents house and that you've already paid money to Hijra's there. If possible keep a receipt of it and show them.

Don't forget to collect the birth certificate after some 6 months or so. Also you must have registered for birth certificate within some 6 months after the birth of baby as some schools want the registration date of birth certificate to be within 6 months of the birth.

About us we used the same technique but got issued the birth certificate from Ajmer after two years and luckily the date of registration was the date of birth of my baby as the municipality had already received the form filled by us and sent through the hospital on right time.

Paying Reduced Amount

For example in my city, one can also go to the head of Hijra's and pay a fixed amount there, collect a receipt. Now if Hijra's come to you just show them the receipt. At the least you'll save yourself from exorbitant demands from them.
